Open Access to the scientific literature means the removal of barriers, including price and legal barriers, from accessing scholarly work. With the advent of Internet, widespread and easy access to scientific information is facilitating research and innovation, so crucial in today‘s knowledge based society. Open Access is not only changing the nature of scholarly communication but even that of scientific work.
